MDS Blog Hop--Homecoming 2013

It's time for October MDS Blog Hop's "what we're working on" project.  Many of you may have come from Jeanna B's blog--she always has such fun projects to share.  Just a couple weeks ago, my baby went to her last Homecoming dance of high school!  I can't believe she's a senior!! {sniff, sniff} She and her friends decided that since none of them got asked to the dance, they would go together (I wish I could've done that in HS!) Kylie and I went to the Fashion Show mall on Las Vegas Bvld (ugh!!) the week before and found a pretty dress and had a friend make a fun slip to make it just a bit longer and more pouffy (is that a word?) The day before  the dance she decided she wanted to get red Converse high tops!  For sure they were easier to dance in!!  When we went to take pictures before the dance, the sun was low and I couldn't find a spot where I wasn't getting glare or shadows...then I dropped my camera!  Yep, it's broken! Good thing for iPhones, right?  The girls went on to dinner at BJ's and then to the dance and had a blast, so much of a blast that she forgot to take any more pics (grrr!).  At least we have a few nice photos to share.

I recolored the burlap ribbon and the paper from the Number One kit.  This was a very simple page, but trying to find just the right background paper was very frustrating!  Anyone else have that problem? Good, I'm glad I'm not the only one! {wink} I love that you can recolor embellishments and background papers!  It opens up a whole world of possibilities for your digital crafting projects.  If you haven't tried MDS, make sure you download the 30 day free trial--there's nothing to lose.  Ok, before you hop on over to Julie Leblanc's blog, I have to congratulate our own Holly and Amber for being selected for Stampin' Up!'s new MDS Design Team!  Yay!  Can't wait to see what Stampin' Up! will have them share with us!  Check out what the rest of the blog hop girls are working on and leave comments, we all love them!

MDS Blog Hop Halloween iPhone Fun!

Welcome to the *NEW* MDS Blog Hop!  Many of you have come from one of my bestie Jeanna Bohanon's blog--isn't she amazing? I always love what she creates! Are you as hungry as I am? Mmmmmmm!!!  As many of you know, I was asked a few months ago to join these talented ladies along with my friend, Cori Kozak, and now we've also added Elizabeth Rush to the line up so that there are now 10 of us "hoppers"!  Woot Woot!  If you add it up, that's more than 20 digital projects each month to inspire and motivate you to create with My Digital Studio.  Each month we will have our theme week on the 2nd Thursday and "what we're working on" week on the 4th Thursday, so there'll be plenty of fabulous ideas throughout the month.  And for those of you who may have missed any particular hop during the month, you can always visit our Pinterest page where we will post each project for you to pin to your heart's content.  We hope that our blog hop will encourage you to create your own projects with MDS.

Now, on to my projects!
My theme was Halloween, and since it's right around the corner, I made some fun iPhone lock screen wallpaper to enjoy whenever you turn on your phone (you know you do it several times a day!!)    Here's what they look like on my iPhone 5:

Something I Need to Share...

Come listen to living prophets

This will be kind of a long post but I feel it is something I need to share.  Many of you know that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as "Mormon".  There are a lot of things said about my church in the media and also by other churches and groups that are completely untrue and and I don't have time to refute every single derogatory word that is said about what I believe and frankly some people will make up their minds about what I believe without ever having met me.  That being said, this weekend is the semi-annual conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and it is something that I love and I am able to learn how to draw nearer to my Savior.  It is my prayer that if there is anyone out there who has concerns or doubts about my belief system you will take a few minutes and watch any part of this conference--I know it will touch your heart and spirit.  I like to pray to my Heavenly Father before hand and ask particular questions (because He is the only one who knows my heart) and every time I watch conference I get the answers to my questions. The teachings encourage me to be a more loving wife, a more understanding parent, a more helpful neighbor, a more thoughtful friend, and especially a more humble servant and follower of the Lord.  If that is not something that you want in your life, then don't watch (after all, we are given agency to make choices for ourselves) but if you would like to be uplifted and edified and feel the promptings of the Holy Spirit, please take some time out of your busy weekend to watch.  Amos 3:7 says, "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secrets unto his servants the prophets."(KJV) I know that the Lord sent prophets to help guide His children during times of evil and discord throughout the world and this time is no different.  He doesn't love us any less than His children from biblical times, and I believe we need His guidance now more than ever!  I welcome any comments made with sincerity and thoughtfulness, but I will not argue the tenants of my church, arguing just drives away the Spirit, and I try my hardest to be worthy to invite the Spirit to be with me as much as possible. I will answer honest questions with honest, heartfelt answers if I can, but if you have deeper questions than what I can answer, I know that you can pray to your Heavenly Father to answer ANY questions, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." James 1:5 (KJV) God lives! He answers prayers and I know this because He has answered mine and I know He will answer yours.

Thank you for allowing me to share my feelings and testimony with you.
